GIRLS ON BIKES - look mom, no plans (2004)

With what was intended to be a one-time only project from Lyd and Justin (Evan Seleven), Girls on Bikes are making a return this year with a full band follow-up to their all acoustic debut "look mom, no plans" from 2004.

The home recorded, and lovingly improvised debut features ten song sketches, some of which would later end up on "love to cuddle" by Cpt Happenin.

Recording sessions for the new LP are set to start next week, with a release set for May this year. In the meantime, you can download "look mom, no plans" for free as ZIP from 2012rockets.

Fedi Formas' favorite furry female feline has been slutting herself around town, all while forgetting her birth control apparently, resulting in the Fedi Forma familys' three newest members...

You may already be familiar with Sladden as she purrs her way through the "sound asleep" LP, the next planned release will most likely feature a purring symphony of epic proportions...

The soundtrack to this video is an old Lovlydia song from 1997, "she had a cup".

In other news, Lovlydias' myspace has been updated with some more old songs - one from each release.
Updates and several meows forthcoming.

SPIES OF AMMO (2004-2006)

Some clips of Spies of Ammo this time, Lyds' regular band between 2004-2006.
Starting in late 2003 Lyd got together with old friend Oyvind (who played drums in Honeycomb), and Nils (Evan Seleven). Nils was still playing with legendary Kristiansand three-piece Novac, so practice was basically impossible until Runar (Pulver, Stereo 21) took over bass duties in early 2004.
Nils joined again in 2006, then on guitar, replacing a short-lived period with Eric (Cast of Ludo) on guitar. Spies of Ammo then disbanded in late 2006 when Lyd moved to Prague to work for satan.

In october 2005, when they were still a three-piece, the band traveled to Bømlo to record an album. This version of Lauren Order was taken from that session.
The footage was recorded by CrapTv @ Sixpence Pub in Kristiansand Norway, in march 2005.

Another song, "the very next to last words" was recorded on Jarle Labdons 8-track tape recorder in december 2004. Original footage by CrapTv, recorded @ Sixpence Pub in Kristiansand may 2005.

Though they recorded lots of stuff in this period, nothing has yet been compiled for Fedi Forma. In the meantime you can visit fediformatube for a couple other songs.

Lyds' second oldest band Honeycomb captured live to VHS 13 years ago...
Even though they have all played together in different forms throughout the years, Lyd, Dan, Nils and Øyvind have still yet to successfully reunite. But not for lack of trying...

Every other year since 2003 has seen them try to get together for a show or two, last year they even came so close as rehearsing somewhat regularly and getting their name on the bill for the infamous Crapfest in Kristiansand.

Honeycomb did manage to record an album in late 1998, but decided to break up in the middle of mixing, and ended up never paying for the tapes,

So this is all that remains; some old vhs tapes that the friendly folk at Craptv transferred to digital for us...

Cpt. Happenin' - love to cuddle (2006)

Cpt. Happenin' got together in may 2005, in the wake of legendary Kristiansand band Novac disbanding. Justin and Dan from Novac were still playing together, and Lyd was eager to at least record some songs with them.

The group lasted a little over a year, and recorded one album for Fedi Forma, released at their last show @ Sixpence Pub in Kristiansand, summer of 2006.

This download includes all of their stuff and more; the complete 11 song "love to cuddle" with 5 outtakes, including a hard-rocking version of Lyds first song "who's got my eyesight", and also a practiceroom recording of the Robert Pollard song "subspace biographies".

Lovlydia & the Cast of Ludo played Charlies Bar in Kristiansand this weekend celebrating their "sound asleep" LP, and also, by coincidence, the delayed "standing on the beach, staring at the ceiling" tape.

The lovely Sofie came to town for a special appearence, playing violin on "better twin" and an impromptu version of "televised".

Lovlydias' 8th album (but the first to be recorded in a real studio) is released today on 12" vinyl and free download.

Recorded in one day with his band the Cast of Ludo, "sound asleep" features ten songs in 36 mins, including the violin & standingbass-driven "better twin", a rerecording of "too polite to kiss me" and the epic 9-minute "my side had sparks",,,

Originally intended to be a white vinyl release, a factory fuck-up stuck us with regular black discs... It's still limited edition of 250 copies, and available for purchase at bandcamp.

FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY, purchase of the LP will come with the cassette-only "standing on the beach, staring at the ceiling" (see seperate post).
EDIT: We received 100 copies of the album on white vinyl today (22.10.2009) from the pressing plant Mobineko. They handled the earlier mentioned mess-up quickly and proffesionally, so I can recommend them gladly.

"My Hand = My Table" was one of three Fedi Forma CD-Rs released in july 2006. Another Evan Seleven cd ("Kill them with Kindness"), and also "Love to Cuddle" by Cpt. Happenin' were released the same day, documenting a productive period for both Lyd and Evan,,,

This split cd collects 5 songs by each, plus "going everywhere slow", written and performed together.

Lovlydia - no you are ep (2007)

This EP was never physically printed, but has been partially available at Lovlydias myspace for a couple of years now...
Written, performed an recorded by Lyd in Prague, 2007, the EP starts with a frisky three songs in three minutes, and ends 4 minutes after that with a fittingly audience-heavy live recording of "the audience everyone listened to".

This download includes some bonus live songs recorded around the time of the EPs' release, including a special version of the old song "it's a hand-me-down" with Ida on vocals.
Also included is "always nowhere" which was missing at the time of release.

Lovlydia - hey puss (2005)

"Hey Puss" was basically an album of left-over tracks that weren't deemed good enough to play regularly with the three bands Lyd was playing in at the time.
Released around christmas 2005, it's still easily the best, and most diverse Lovlydia cd to date.
Three of the songs "too polite to kiss me", "the audience everyone listened to" and "i try hard to impress myself for you" were recorded with Cpt Happenin, but were included on Hey Puss since it didn't seem as if the band would continue playing for much longer. When Cpt Happenin released the album "love to cuddle" six months later, only "too polite..." was included.
The rest of the album was recorded sporadically during 2005.

Wasted Space Cadets 1 + 2

Two eps of excellent indierock from Kristiansand ultimate supergroup Wasted Space Cadets.

The first, a whiskey-fueled recording session from x-mas 2005, features three songs from Generic (danish space ferry), two from Richard (megaphonic thrift) and one song from Lyd.
50 CD-R copies were printed, but they disappeared quicker than any other Fedi Forma release before or since.

Wasted Space Cadets 2 was recorded in early january 2008, but has remained on the Fedi Forma hard-drive since then due to non-obvious reasons...

Expanding the line-up with Justin (evan seleven) and Gee (george court trials), plus upping the fidelity from last time, the five-piece run through one song each of classic indierock, available here for the first time.
